Prerequisites

  • Completion of Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals course on Cloud Academy or practical working experience with GCP infrastructure
  • Basic proficiency with command-line tools and Linux operating system environments

Hello, and welcome to “Configuring GCP Access and Security”. My name is Daniel Mease and I am a trainer at Cloud Academy. This course was developed by Abhishek Gupta who has over 10 years of experience in the domains of high-performance computing, cloud, and security.

This course is intended for cloud administrators. If you are a cloud security practitioner or are involved in any sort of development with GCP, you will also benefit from taking this course.

At a high level, we'll cover the following topics. After this introduction, I will dive into how you can manage identity and access management in GCP. Then, you will learn about service accounts, what they mean, and how you can manage them. Next, I will talk about audit logs and how to review those. And finally, I will summarize the key learning objectives.

Daniel began his career as a Software Engineer, focusing mostly on web and mobile development. After twenty years of dealing with insufficient training and fragmented documentation, he decided to use his extensive experience to help the next generation of engineers.

Daniel has spent his most recent years designing and running technical classes for both Amazon and Microsoft. Today at Cloud Academy, he is working on building out an extensive Google Cloud training library.

When he isn’t working or tinkering in his home lab, Daniel enjoys BBQing, target shooting, and watching classic movies.
