Description

In this Course, we look at configuring Private Google access starting with an overview of what it is, before moving on to networking and DNS configuration as well as routing and firewalls. We'll then walk you through a guided demonstration of how to enable Private Google Access so that you get a practical understanding of the service.

We'll also look at Private Google Access for on-premises hosts, covering domain names, virtual IPs, networking and DNS configuration, and permissions. We'll wrap with Private Services Access and Serverless VPC Access.

Learning Objectives

Transcript

Congratulations! You’ve come to the end of configuring private Google access. Let’s review what you’ve learned.

We started things off with an overview of the different types of private Google access that can be configured. You were introduced to Private Google Access, Private Google Access for on-prem hosts, Private Services Access, and Serverless VPC Access.

After introducing you to the types of private Google access that exist, we dove into the details of Private Google Access, where you learned about its networking and DNS requirements, along with how to configure routing and firewalls to use it.

We wrapped up the Private Google Access section with a hands-on demonstration of enabling Private Google Access.

We then took a look at Private Google Access for On-Prem Hosts. You learned about the different domains used by Private Google Access, as well as what virtual IPs you need to be aware of.

Next, we jumped into networking and DNS configuration requirements to support Private Google Access for on-prem hosts. We wrapped up the section by covering the permissions that are required for implementing Private Google Access.

Rounding things out, we briefly touched on Private Services Access and Serverless VPC Access. Since this course is built more for Private Google Access and Private Google Access for On-Prem Hosts, we covered Private Services Access and Serverless VPC Access only for completeness sake.

At this point, you should have a good understanding of how to configure private Google access.

To learn more about configuring private Google access, you can, and should, read Google’s published documentation. You should also keep an eye out for new courses on Cloud Academy because we’re always publishing new ones.

Be sure to give this course a rating, and if you have any questions or comments, please let us know.

As always, thanks for watching, and happy learning!
