Welcome to Data Governance Reports.
Once an organization has created all the labels and policies that are necessary to govern its data, it’s only natural that the staff would want to see if those labels and policies are doing what they are expected to do. This is where reporting comes into play. The data governance reports, that are available in the Security & Compliance Center, include the Top 5 Labels report, the Manual vs Auto Apply report, the Records Tagging report, and the Labels Trend over the Past 90 Days report.
The Top 5 labels report shows the count of the top 5 labels that have been applied to content. It provides a list of labels that have been recently applied to content, and includes each label's count, location, how it was applied, its retention actions, whether it's a record, and its disposition type.
The Manual vs Auto apply report shows you the count of all content that's been labeled manually or automatically. It also shows the PERCENTAGE of content that's been labeled manually vs automatically.
Records tagging shows a count of all content that's been tagged as a record or non-record, as well as the percentage of content that's been tagged as a record vs. non-record.
And then the Labels trend over the past 90 days report shows the count and location of all labels that have been applied in the last 90 days.
All four of these governance reports show info on labeled content in Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive for Business. These reports can be filtered by date and location. I should also mention though, that Microsoft indicates that the most recent data can take up to 24 hours to appear in the reports.
To view these reports in the Security & Compliance Center, simply browse to Information governance, and then to Dashboard.
