Following on the heals of the the well-received introductory course, this new series by the experienced Linux system administrator and cloud expert David Clinton will present many more advanced Docker concepts, the open-source software for creating isolated, virtual containers to deploy and distribute applications.

In this course you will see Docker under the hood and discover tips and tricks to become a more confident and efficient user. You will learn how Docker networking works and how to use Docker on the cloud, taking advantage of the many dedicated hosting solutions and of the dedicated support recently added to the AWS Beanstalk PaaS solution.

Who should take this course

Since this course covers more advanced topics, you will need some basic knowledge of Docker. You may therefore want to take our  "Getting started with Docker" introductory course first. Also, you'll need some knowledge of Linux and its command line interface, and in particular of networking and basic TCP/IP concepts.

David taught high school for twenty years, worked as a Linux system administrator for five years, and has been writing since he could hold a crayon between his fingers. His childhood bedroom wall has since been repainted.

Having worked directly with all kinds of technology, David derives great pleasure from completing projects that draw on as many tools from his toolkit as possible.

Besides being a Linux system administrator with a strong focus on virtualization and security tools, David writes technical documentation and user guides, and creates technology training videos.

His favorite technology tool is the one that should be just about ready for release tomorrow. Or Thursday.
