Hello and welcome to Introduction to Google Compute Engine. My name is Daniel Mease, and I'll be taking you through this course. I'm a trainer at Cloud Academy with over 20 years of software and web development experience. Now, this course is intended for Cloud Architects, System Administrators, GCP Developers, or anyone preparing for a Google Cloud certification. By completing this course, you will learn: One, what is Google Compute Engine.

Two, how it differs from the other Google compute offerings. And three, how to create virtual machine instances from scratch, from a template, and from a machine image. The following prerequisites will be helpful for completing this course. First, you should already have a basic understanding of virtual machines; and ideally, you should have access to a GCP account.
