Currently, there are about three dozen distinct roles within the Security and Compliance Center. These roles include about a dozen or so view-only roles, along with several management-related roles, and admin-related roles. For example, the View-Only Record Management role is used to view the configuration and reports for the record management feature and is assigned to the Compliance Administrator, Compliance Data Administrator, and Organization Management role groups by default. The Communication role is used to create, edit, delete, and control access to communications and is assigned to the eDiscovery Manager role group. Other key roles in the security and compliance center include Compliance Administrator and Compliance Search, as we as Organization Configuration and Device Management.
