Hello and welcome to this Cloud Academy presentation.  A little bit about myself, I’m Jorge Negrón and I’m part of the AWS Content development team here at Cloud Academy.

In this course, you will be presented with AWS Systems Manager as a collection of features that will permit you to manage your machine fleet at scale in AWS, your own data center or even other cloud platforms.  AWS Systems Manager helps you automatically implement complex workflows related to your machine deployment, configuration, and life cycle. You can view and control your infrastructure from a single point of management, As of this writing, AWS Systems Manager includes over 20 different features, all of them intended to permit you to consolidate your operations into dashboards supporting Linux, Windows and MacOS operating systems. Dashboards provide contextual information, guidance, and solution steps to common issues like software updates and patches.

We will discuss AWS Systems Manager features including the systems manager agent software that is required. We also discuss the Systems Manager Run Command, Systems Manager Documents, Parameter Store, and Maintenance Windows.  These are fundamental resources to the features of AWS Systems Manager.
