Hi, welcome to this Using DAX to Build Measures in Power BI course. This course is all about writing DAX and using functions to create measures. Measures are a key component of Power BI that are integral for improving report performance by reducing dataset size. We begin by creating a quick measure using the Power BI graphical interface but quickly move on to creating measures from scratch using just DAX.
While you don't need to have written DAX before, I do assume you know what it is, what functions are, and are familiar with the Power BI desktop interface. We will be exploring report scenarios that are commonly encountered in a business environment and looking at how custom DAX measures can be put to best use.
