Hello, and welcome to Adding Language Understanding to Chatbots with LUIS. My name is Emilio Melo and I'm an Azure Solution Architect at Cloud Advantage, with a focus on Data & AI solutions. I was lucky enough to have worked for some major companies in the IT industry, such as Microsoft, IBM, NetApp, and Trivago.
So who is this course for? This course is made for developers or architects that would like to know more about how to use the Language Understanding Intelligent Service, LUIS, to improve your chatbot development and experience. The focus of this course is to cover how to use the LUIS portal to create new LUIS models, how to enrich them with Intents, Entities, and Utterances, and how to train and apply apps. We're not going to focus much on coding, but I'll add a few links with code samples in case you want to develop it in either C# or Python.
The prerequisites are relatively low, as we will be covering LUIS concepts from the beginning. That being said, it would be useful if you had some Azure experience, at least with topics such as subscription and resource groups, some Cognitive Services knowledge, especially on chatbots and the language services, and some developer experience, including familiarity with terms such as REST API and SDKs.
