In this Kinesis Analytics course, we will perform an in-depth review of the Amazon Kinesis Analytics service. We review where and when to use this service to best effect. You will be introduced to the key features and core components of the Kinesis Analytics service. We spend time understanding and reviewing Kinesis Analytics Applications, Input Streams, SQL Queries, Pumps, and Output Streams. We’ll review the important parts of how to define and structure our SQL queries. Finally, a demonstration and walkthrough of an end-to-end real-time data streaming example is provided.

Hello and welcome to this Cloud Academy course on Kinesis Analytics. Before we start, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Jeremy Cook. You can email us at support@cloudacademy.com. Alternatively our online community forum is available for your feedback. In this training course you'll be introduced to Amazon Kinesis Analytics. Amazon Kinesis Analytics is a component of the wider Amazon Kinesis platform offering. The Amazon Kinesis platform consists of the following components, Amazon Kinesis Streams, Amazon Kinesis Firehose, and Amazon Kinesis Analytics. The remainder of this particular course will focus on the Amazon Kinesis Analytics service. The agenda and learning objectives for this course are as follows, we'll review Kinesis Analytics, and where and when to use it to best effect. We'll introduce you to the key features and core components of the Kinesis Analytics service. We'll spend some time understanding and reviewing AWS Kinesis Analytics applications, input streams, queries, pumps and output streams. We'll review the important parts of how to define and structure or rescue our queries. Finally, we'll provide a demonstration and walk through of an end-to-end real-time data streaming example in which we perform real-time analytics. The following prerequisites will be both useful and helpful for this course, general big data and analytical concepts, SQL, Structured Query Language used at query time, data streams.
