Microsoft AppSource is an online app store full of apps built for Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and more. Organizations can search through a wide range of categories each with apps tailor-made for different needs. The nice thing about AppSource is that organizations have the ability to test drive applications in ah a demo environment to determine if it will fit their specific needs. They can also request a free trial of an app if they want to see how it will work within their own environment.
Once an organization wishes to purchase an app, they simply need to navigate to the AppSource page and purchase the application from there. And as I mentioned in the last lecture, the Microsoft 365 Admin Center is where you manage purchases and licenses, and this applies to AppSource purchases as well. All apps purchased through the AppSource store can also be managed through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Let's take a quick look at the store just to get an understanding about what it looks like and how it works.
As you can see here, this is the Microsoft AppSource store. I can sort by categories, industries, or products. But if I wanted to find an application for sales or maybe retail, I can simply come on down to the sales category, click here, and it will bring me to a list of applications that were pre-built for sales. If I wanted to install or purchase one of these applications, we can go through and see Salesforce, HubSpot Sales, and simply click on the free trial or get it now option. We'll go ahead and try the HubSpot Sales. It brings the page right here asking me to confirm the details. I'll get it now, and once I click here, it will actually bring me into the Microsoft 365 Admin Center to deal with the licensing.
