Description

In this course, we’ll look at which Azure AD settings at settings that apply to the entire tenant or to all users as default settings. For the most part, Azure enables you to exert granular control over users, groups, and applications through role-based access control and policies. However, this course looks at settings that impact an Azure Active Directory instance as properties or default behaviors. As Azure AD’s main function is authentication and authorization, most of the settings are focused on these areas, but we also look and customization and helper settings.

Transcript

Hi, and welcome to this Configuring Tenant-Wide Settings in Azure AD course. My name is Hallam Webber, and I'm an Azure instructor with 25-plus years of experience in the IT industry, and since 2014 I've focused on Microsoft Azure and related technologies.

This course is intended for students who want to learn which settings in Azure Active Directory have a tenant-wide impact. The information presented in this course will be helpful to students preparing for the SC-300: Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator exam.

In this course, we’ll look at which Azure AD settings, when applied, impact all or very close to all users. Broadly speaking, the settings are in the areas of external users and directories, company branding, named locations, and authentication methods

This course focuses on which settings have a tenant-wide impact, with a brief overview of each one. Some of the settings discussed have whole courses devoted to them, like multi-factor authentication, so we’ll look at their key aspects rather than a deep dive into each setting. While it’s assumed you understand the basics of Azure Active Directory and its primary function, we do start with an overview of what a tenant is and how it fits into the Azure structure to set the stage before getting into specifics.

When I created this course, all information was current. If you have any feedback, positive or negative, or if you notice anything that needs to be updated or corrected, please reach out to us at support@cloudacademy.com.
