The course is part of this learning path
This course introduces the Create an Event-Driven Architecture in AWS learning path, which covers various services available to create event-driven cloud solutions in AWS.
Once the course is completed, you will be able to:
- Understand AWS Step Functions for managing workflows
- Utilise EventBridge to trigger actions based on schedules or AWS events
- Optimise with lambda functions to provide computing power to your actions
- Recognise the S3 events that trigger lambda functions based on file-related actions
Event-driven architectures are likely the most efficient ways to take advantage of Cloud Computing. Why? Because most of the time, you only pay when your services are actually running and you don’t have to worry about scaling up or down as you would with traditional compute options in the cloud.
In this Learning Path, you’ll learn about the various services available to create event-driven cloud solutions in AWS. As you learn about these services just think about how you would combine them to solve problems.
Hello and Welcome! My name is Carlos Rivas and I'm a senior AWS content creator here at Cloud Academy. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions using the details shown on the screen, or you can always get in touch with us by sending an email to support@cloudacademy.com where one of our Cloud experts will reply to your question.
If you are a Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer, and you want to explore options that go beyond traditional virtual machines, such as serverless computing, message queues and AWS services with zero back-end administration then this learning path is for you!
As you make your way through this guided learning path, you will be presented with a series of on-demand courses, hands-on labs and lab challenges, allowing you to become proficient in designing your own event-driven architecture.
You’ll learn about:
-
AWS Step Functions for managing workflows
-
EventBridge to trigger actions based on schedules or AWS events
-
Lambda Functions to provide computing power to your actions
-
S3 events that trigger lambda functions based on file-related actions
As a prerequisite to taking this learning path, you may find it beneficial in having some familiarity with the fundamentals of AWS and some of its core services.
Feedback on our content here at Cloud Academy is valuable to both us as trainers and any students looking to take the same course in the future. If you have any feedback, positive or negative, it would be greatly appreciated if you could contact support@cloudacademy.com.

Software Development has been my craft for over 2 decades. In recent years, I was introduced to the world of "Infrastructure as Code" and Cloud Computing.
I loved it! -- it re-sparked my interest in staying on the cutting edge of technology.
Colleagues regard me as a mentor and leader in my areas of expertise and also as the person to call when production servers crash and we need the App back online quickly.
My primary skills are:
★ Software Development ( Java, PHP, Python and others )
★ Cloud Computing Design and Implementation
★ DevOps: Continuous Delivery and Integration
