Hello, and welcome to this lesson on databases in AWS, where we’re here to help you on your journey to prepare for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification.

My name is Danny Jessee, and I am one of the trainers here at Cloud Academy, specializing in AWS – Amazon Web Services – and AWS certifications. Feel free to contact me with any questions using the details shown on the screen, or you can always get in touch with us here at Cloud Academy by sending an email to support@cloudacademy.com, where one of our Cloud experts will reply to your question.

This lesson is specifically curated to help you pass the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam and is ideal for anyone who is looking to learn about the various database services in AWS in preparation for the exam.

The objective of this lesson is to provide a high-level introduction to database services in AWS, including:

  • Managed relational databases using the Amazon Relational Database Service, or RDS, including Amazon Aurora; and

  • Managed NoSQL databases including Amazon DynamoDB.

Together with the other lessons in this course, we’ll cover all four domains from the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam guide and ensure that you are fully prepared to sit this exam.

This lesson is designed for anyone who is new to cloud computing, so no prior experience with AWS is necessary. While it may be helpful to have a basic understanding of AWS and its services, as well as some exposure to AWS Cloud design, implementation, and operations, this is not required as all of the concepts we will introduce in this lesson will be explained and reinforced from the ground up.
