Kinesis data analytics allows you to use SQL to query data in Kinesis data Streams and Kinesis Data Firehose and then stored to Amazon S3, an OpenSearch Cluster or Amazon RedShift Cluster.
Kinesis Data Analytics is used for real time analysis on Kinesis Data streams using Structured query language to perform time series analytics, populate real time dashboards, and create real time metrics. It’s a fully managed services with built in auto scaling which can create streams out of the real-time queries as a result.
To use Kinesis Data Analytics you create an application that reads and processes streaming data from Kinesis Data Streams or Kinesis Data Firehose. You then write your SQL code using an interactive editor and test it with the live streaming data.
For new projects you can use the Kinesis Data Analytics Studio which provides you ease of use with advanced analytical capabilities and lets you build stream processing applications in minutes.
Kinesis Data Nalaytics supports Kinesis Firehose, AWS Lambda and Kinesis Data Streams as destinations to send the results.
You are billed for the data consumption rate.
