- [Instructor] Hello and welcome to the DevOps Adoption Playbook learning Path presented to you by Cloud Academy.

In this course we'll introduce you to the learning path contents, intended audience, learning objectives, and prerequisites. Before we start, I would like introduce myself. My name is Jeremy Cook. I'm one of the trainers here at Cloud Academy, specializing in DevOps. Feel free to connect either with myself or the wider team here at CloudAcademy regarding anything presented within this learning path. You can email us at support@cloudacademy.com.

The DevOps Adoption Playbook learning path consists of a blend of instructional course ware, demonstrations, and several hands on labs where you'll get to practice with the technologies. Additionally, two exams are available to assess your knowledge of the subject matter.

The DevOps Adoption Playbook consists of 12 individual books split across two courses. The first course covers books one through to seven, and the second course covers the remaining books eight through to 12. Each book follows a similar pattern, where we review the formal definition of the particular DevOps practice, why the particular DevOps practice is important, how to adopt the particular DevOps practice, associated benefits and challenges. We present commonly used software tools that facilitate the particular DevOps practice. We present example architectures. And finally we provide a checklist and summary.

The intended audience for this learning path includes organizations beginning their DevOps journey, anyone interested in adopting DevOps into their own organization, anyone interested in build and deployment automated pipelines and automation in general for software development, software developers, and DevOps Practitioners.

By completing this learning path, you will understand important requirements to consider when adopting DevOps into your own organization, understand the benefits of using DevOps and associated practices and software tools to build software at speed and scale, and become familiar with specific DevOps practices such as continuous integration and continuous deployment, and knowing how to utilize them to configure effective build and deployment pipelines. The following prerequisites will be both useful and helpful for this learning path: A basic understanding of software development and a basic understanding of the software development life cycle.

Okay, the learning path introduction has now been completed. Go ahead and close this lecture and we'll see you shortly in the first course.
