Hello and welcome to this course which is going to explain AWS CodeDeploy and how it can be used to automate deployments of applications to platforms such as Amazon EC2, Amazon ECS, AWS Lambda, and even on-premises servers.

Before we begin - I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Alana Layton and I am an AWS Content Creator here at Cloud Academy. Feel free to connect with me to ask any questions using the details shown on the screen, alternatively you can always get in touch with us here at Cloud Academy by sending an e-mail to support@cloudacademy.com where one of our Cloud experts will reply to your question.

This course has been created for those who are implementing and managing software deployments on AWS or for those looking to take an AWS certification, such as the AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification.

By the end of this course, you will have a greater understanding of AWS CodeDeploy, including:

  • What the service is and the benefit it provides

  • What an appspec file is

  • How to use AWS CodeDeploy to deploy your code

To get the most out of this course you should have a fundamental understanding of AWS, including services such as Amazon CloudWatch and AWS IAM. It’s also helpful to understand the platforms that CodeDeploy deploys to, such as Amazon EC2, Amazon ECS and Lambda. Since CodeDeploy is often used in combination with AWS CodeBuild and AWS CodeCommit, you might feel more comfortable if you understand the basics of those services as well.   For more information on these services please see our existing content here:
