Hello and welcome to Introduction to Google Compute Engine. My name is Daniel Mease, and I'll be taking you through this course. I'm a trainer at Cloud Academy with over 20 years of software and web development experience. Now, this course is intended for Cloud Architects, System Administrators, GCP Developers, or anyone preparing for a Google Cloud certification. By completing this course, you will learn: One, what is Google Compute Engine.
Two, how it differs from the other Google compute offerings. And three, how to create virtual machine instances from scratch, from a template, and from a machine image. The following prerequisites will be helpful for completing this course. First, you should already have a basic understanding of virtual machines; and ideally, you should have access to a GCP account. Feedback on our courses is valuable, both to us as trainers and our future students. So, if you have any criticisms or suggestions for improvement, we would greatly appreciate it if you would share those with us.
