Delve and MyAnalytics are both tools meant to help you increase your own individual efficiency. Looking at Delve first, it is a tool that shows you relevant content across your Microsoft 265 tenant. The cool thing about Delve is that it doesn’t show you things based on recency rather it shows you files that it believes is currently relevant to you.
It analyzes your work patterns, you communication with colleagues, and who you are frequently collaborating with through something called the Microsoft Graph. Allowing users to create different boards for related content, share those board with others, and work with other colleagues, delve not only saves you time but also your sanity. MyAnalytics is a little bit different then delve but goes falls into a similar wheelhouse of analyzing your workspace patterns and provides suggestions based upon those insights.
It reports on 4 specific areas being focus time, wellbeing, network, and collaboration in a dashboard that is merging with another tool called Microsoft Viva Insights. Focus time analyzes the amount of time you have during your week outside of meetings, emails, chats, and calls to solely focus on your work. Wellbeing analyzes your time spent working outside of standard working hours meant to help you focus on quiet time and relaxing without worrying about work on your off time.
Network analyzes the relationships with people in your network while collaboration provides details on who you collaborated with and where. The strength of MyAnalytics is that is provide insights and suggestions based on the analysis of your work habits. Things like when to schedule focus time to avoid overlap in your calendar or who to have weekly meetings with based on your collaboration history are things that MyAnalytics can help you find and implement.
It is important to clarify that MyAnalytics is different than Workplace Analytics. We will not be covering Workplace Analytics however just know that MyAnalytics is for personal insights for yourself while Workplace Analytics is insights across an entire organization.
Lee has spent most of his professional career learning as much as he could about PC hardware and software while working as a PC technician with Microsoft. Once covid hit, he moved into a customer training role with the goal to get as many people prepared for remote work as possible using Microsoft 365. Being both Microsoft 365 certified and a self-proclaimed Microsoft Teams expert, Lee continues to expand his knowledge by working through the wide range of Microsoft certifications.
