Transcript

Hello and welcome to Managing Devices in Microsoft 365. My name is Lee Mucciarone and I'm a Microsoft 365 Content Creator for Cloud Academy. I have four years of IT experience working for Microsoft with two years of specialized experience as a customer training specialist training users on Microsoft tools. Today, I'm going to take you through the features provided by Microsoft 365 that allow you to monitor, protect, and manage devices across an organization.

One of the core features of Microsoft 365 is Enterprise, Mobility, and Security, which includes mobile device management tools like Microsoft Intune. Microsoft 365 provides two options for MDM solutions being either Basic Mobility and Security or Microsoft Intune, both of which provides some level of protection and management for general devices. You can also utilize tools like Azure AD to not only automatically enroll devices for management, but apply security features like conditional access policies to manage devices.

Before we get too deep into the specifics of the tools, let's take a look at what we'll be covering in this course. Today, we're going to be going over the differences and benefits of both the Configuration Manager and Microsoft Intune, what co-management is and what benefits it provides, the capabilities and differences between the MDM solutions provided within Microsoft 365, which are Basic Mobility and Security and Microsoft Intune. And how other Microsoft tools integrate with MDM solutions to provide better security for organizations. With that out of the way, let's take a look at how device management has changed over the years and cover the Configuration Manager and how it relates to Microsoft Intune.
