Transcript

Hello and welcome to Managing OAuth Application Requests in Microsoft 365. My name is Lee Mucciarone, and I'm a Microsoft 365 content creator for Cloud Academy. I have 40 years of IT experience working for Microsoft, with two years of specialized experience as a customer training specialist training users on Microsoft tools. Today, we'll be taking a look at  OAuth Application Requests, and how you can keep your data safe using Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps. Depending on your organization and users, there may be a need for users to download third-party applications.

As with any third-party app, there is always a potential security risk involved in this process and as such, it's important to understand how to keep your data safe. Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps provides you the tools you need to not only monitor data access by these apps, but also the ability to ban apps you deem unsafe. With that in mind, today we'll be covering how to navigate the Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps portal, and how you can use it to manage OAuth requests and secure your cloud apps. Now that we understand what we'll be covering in this course, let's start off with what exactly is OAuth and what does it mean for your organization.
