Transcript

Hello and welcome to Microsoft encryption and hashing. My name's Lee Mucciarone, and I'm a Microsoft 365 content creator for Cloud Academy. I have four years of IT experience working for Microsoft and two years of specialized experience as a customer training specialist training users on Microsoft tools. Encryption may very well be a word most people have heard of and may even have a basic understanding of. However, even though many people likely understand what encryption is, the process of encryption and types of encryption are rarely discussed. While it may be a generalized security feature, Microsoft utilizes encryption in a multitude of different ways to ensure that data is kept safe. So, with that in mind, today, we'll be going over what exactly is encryption and the types of encryption, what is hashing and how does that differ from encryption, and how Microsoft and Azure encrypts data. Now that we understand what we'll be covering in the course, let's start off with encryption and hashing.

Being both Microsoft 365 certified and a self-proclaimed Microsoft Teams expert, Lee continues to expand his knowledge by working through the wide range of Microsoft certifications.
