Hello, and welcome to Understanding Azure Policy. My name is Lee Mucciarone, and I'm a Microsoft 365 content creator for Cloud Academy. I have four years of IT experience working for Microsoft, with two years of specialized experience as a customer training specialist training users on Microsoft tools. Azure has a bunch of different features that organizations can use to manage their business. Today, we'll be taking a quick look at Azure Policy and how it can be used to keep your data safe. While we won't be going into too much detail, we will be giving a brief overview of; What is Azure Policy and how does it differ from Azure role-based access control? How does Azure Policy evaluate resources? What is a policy definition and how do they function, and the formatting and components of policy definitions? Now that we understand what we'll be covering in the course, let's start off simple with what is Azure Policy and what does it mean for your organization?
Lee has spent most of his professional career learning as much as he could about PC hardware and software while working as a PC technician with Microsoft. Once covid hit, he moved into a customer training role with the goal to get as many people prepared for remote work as possible using Microsoft 365. Being both Microsoft 365 certified and a self-proclaimed Microsoft Teams expert, Lee continues to expand his knowledge by working through the wide range of Microsoft certifications.
