Prerequisites
To get the most out of this course you should already have a basic understanding of Power Platform.
Power Platform, while being a standalone toolset with its own admin center does fall under the scope of Microsoft 365 and because of this, it is important to clarify which admin center is best used for any given situation. Generally speaking, the Microsoft 365 admin center is the main administration center across your organization and provides a broader scope of administrative tasks. Things like Advanced Threat Analytics, Intune, and the Security and Compliance center all live within the M365 admin center however for certification purposes it is important to know when to use which admin center.
The most important things to remember are that the M365 Admin center is where you manage licenses and subscriptions across your organization as well as managing certain security options. The Power Platform Admin center on the other hand is specific to Power Platform apps and has nothing to do with licensing. Rather, the Power platform admin center allows you to control permissions within Power Platform after being provided a license through the M365 admin center.
Things like updating data policies, viewing Power Platform analytics, and viewing data integration across Power Platform are all examples of what you can do within Power Platform Admin Center. It is important to note that Power Platform Admins cannot manage user accounts, manage subscriptions, access settings for Microsoft 365 apps like Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft SharePoint as these permissions are restricted to the Microsoft 365 global admin.
