Virtualization is everywhere! Exactly what is it and how should you make use of it?
The "Virtualization and Infrastructure Migration Technical Overview" course will help you discover the benefits of open source virtualization, how to better manage your virtualization assets, and the best way to move traditional workloads from one virtualization provider to an open virtualization.
In this course, you will learn to:
- Easily define infrastructure mappings.
- Create migration plans to confidently balance your workloads.
- Build migration plans to reduce your expenditure on virtualization.
Ola. My name is Miguel Perez Colino. I am part of the Vertical Markets and Solutions Team at Red Hat. Welcome to the Virtualization and Infrastructure Migration Technical Overview course. Here are the topics that we are going to discuss. So first we will talk about virtualization because we are going to focus on virtualized workloads. And then we will talk about the essentials of infrastructure migration and how it is all put together. Then we will talk about the Cloud Management Platform, which is the centerpiece of the infrastructure migration as it will orchestrate all the migration. We will also do a walkthrough on vSphere and Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) to see the main features that you can find in both. And we will see how to set up your cloud management platform so it can connect to both of them and make the best out of them, and also to be able to see all the resources that you have in your virtualization in one single place.
We will do a demo on Open Virtualization and we will review all the technologies that have been used that are open source to make Red Hat Virtualization. We will do a review on the architecture of the infrastructure migration solution and how to use it. And then, we will demo it. And finally, we will do a recap and review on what we have seen, and we will look beyond on what you can do with your workloads to make them more efficient. So let's get started and I will see you in the next video.
