Vulnerability management at scale with Amazon Inspector. Hello and welcome to this Cloud Academy presentation. A little bit about myself, I'm Jorge Negron and I'm part of the AWS content development team here at Cloud Academy. In this course, we introduced the latest version of Amazon Inspector, now improved for automated and continuous vulnerability management at scale. The previous version of Amazon Inspector is now called Amazon Inspector Classic. The AWS shared responsibility security model defines the dividing line between what AWS will be responsible in terms of security and what customers need to be responsible in terms of protection and security.
When it comes to the deployment of EC2 instances, customers are responsible for operating system updates, patches, and the overall health security of those instances. AWS provides tools to help in these tasks, and Amazon Inspector is an essential tool to continuously scan your Amazon EC2 instances, elastic container registries, and even Lambda function resources for software vulnerabilities and unintended network exposure. We will discuss Amazon Inspector Version 2, its improvements in terms of automation and integration with other AWS security-related services.
