Hello and welcome to this course, which will provide you with an introduction to AWS Cloud9,  a cloud-based IDE used for writing and debugging code right within your own browser. This course will help familiarize you with AWS Cloud9 and help you understand when and where to use it within your own software projects. 

Before we get started - I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Alana Layton and I am an AWS content creator here at Cloud Academy. This course has been created for those who use AWS and are working with code. If you’ve been considering using AWS Cloud9 or are new to AWS Cloud9, this is the course for you. By the end of this course, you will have a greater understanding of AWS Cloud9, including: 

  • What this tool is and the benefit it provides

  • How to use the service to write and manage your code 

To get the most out of this course, you should understand the fundamentals of AWS. It also helps to understand some of the core compute services, such as Amazon EC2 and AWS Lambda.
