RSA is a modern asymmetric encryption standard used in public key cryptographic schemes to share secret values and electronically sign documents. The algorithm works by using modulo mathematics to share numbers between parties, encrypting a value with a public key which only the holder of a separate, secret, private key. Each key pair is generated is calculated using several mathematic functions and equations.
You will explore the RSA encryptiong algorithm in this lab by encrypting and decrypting a message.
This lab is part of a series on cyber network security.
Upon completion of this lab you will be able to:
Demonstrate how RSA can be used to share a secret value using public key cryptography.
