Description
If you want to learn how to use the structured query language (SQL) to create, query, and manipulate data in relational databases then this learning path is for you. This collection of courses and labs will explain the fundamentals concepts of SQL before extending your practical knowledge of the topic. We then go further into SQL functions before working through a practical scenario where we solve a business issue with SQL.
This learning path starts with an Introduction to SQL - the structured query language. You'll learn what SQL is, how you use it, and why it exists as a way to work with data. We then look at how to read and write data from databases using SQL before practicing some basic commands in a lab environment.
In Working with SQL we learn how to use SQL to alter and delete tables and how to use primary and foreign keys. We examine common joins between tables in a relational database. We then delve into inner, outer, left, and right joins before learning to manipulate data using the INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE functions.
In the SQL Masterclass we go beyond the basics to empower you with the skills, how-to knowledge, and hands-on expertise to work through and solve complex business issues with SQL. We go deep and hands-on with transactions, subqueries, inline views, summarized queries, the EXISTS predicate, and set operations.
We then practice solving a real-world data scenario in Using SQL to Import and Validate Data from CSV Files.

Learning Path Steps
Learn how to read and write data using structures created with the language SQL
In this lab, you will practice the basics of SQL by connecting to a Microsoft SQL Server instance and then creating, managing and viewing data using a combination of user interface tools and SQL queries.
In this course, you'll learn how to apply the structured query language to manage and manipulate data in a relational database.
In this lab, you will practice using joins. Joins are a SQL tool that allow you to view, edit and store data from multiple tables using a single query.
This lab challenge provides you with a SQL environment. You must perform several SQL tasks to complete the challenge.
We go deep into transactions, subqueries, inline views, summarized queries, the exists predicate and set operations.
In this course, you'll learn about the use cases, procedures, and automation processes of SQL.
In this lab, you will complete a series of exercises that cover all the important components of the language and allow you to practice your SQL.
