About Lab Challenges

Lab challenges are hands-on labs with the gloves off. You jump into an auto-provisioned cloud environment and are given a goal to accomplish. No instructions, no hints. To pass, you'll have less than one hour to demonstrate your problem-solving skills and get the checks that inspect the state of your lab environment.

Challenge Description

Python is one of the most popular programming languages around. Your effort invested in learning Python can take your career to many places. This lab challenge will help you confirm your knowledge in topics covered in the Introduction to Python learning path.

In this lab challenge, you will be provided with a web browser-based integrated development environment (IDE) with several incomplete code files pre-loaded. Each code file describes what you must do to complete it before time runs out. This is a real environment, which means you can prove your knowledge in an applied situation, leaving behind multiple choice questions for a dynamic performance-based exam situation.

With this lab challenge, we are pushing you to the next level. Unlike our many other Lab sessions, we are offering an advanced level environment where full and complete instructions will not be included to help you along the way. This means you will have to demonstrate your practical knowledge to the best of your abilities. You can check the status of your work by running checks that inspect the state of your Lab environment.

What will be assessed

  • Your ability to write Python code within a time-limited environment
  • Particular aspects of Python that may be assessed include basic data types, slicing, dates, times, and the operating system interface
