The third and final AWS Solutions Architect Associate Level prep course (or 16-SolArch.03, as we affectionately call it) is now up and running on the Cloud Academy site. So there goes your last excuse not to throw yourself into passing this hugely important AWS exam.
The Cloud Academy members who’ve already worked through the first two AWS Solutions Architect courses know that we covered the basic structural design of AWS resources (EC2, S3, IAM, AMIs, and EBS) in Compute Fundamentals and Storage Fundamentals for AWS.
Now Database Fundamentals wraps things up by exploring data management.
I should note that, because we had to pick and choose what to include, this series doesn’t deal with some “relatively” minor services that might, nevertheless, make an appearance on the AWS Solutions Architect exam. With that in mind, it might be a good idea to independently familiarize yourself with AWS Storage Gateway, Elasticache, Elastic Map Reduce, Redshift, Direct Connect, Directory Services, Trusted Advisor, OpsWorks, and CloudDeploy.
Amazon Web Services is an IaaS, pay-per-use public cloud platform offering a broad range of services, from databases to DNS, allowing you to host any kind of application in the cloud (you can check out more of Cloud Academy’s resources for EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC).
The AWS “Infrastructure as a Service” platform is a complete solution used by thousands of companies serving countless millions of users to power public cloud deployments. All AWS services can be accessed through the Amazon Management Console, APIs, or via Command Line Interface.
Someone’s got to design and provision all these deployments.
