Accelerating Deployments with AWS CDK Hotswap and Watch
Frequent iterations and deployments are to be expected during the development stage of an AWS CDK application. The AWS CDK Toolkit (CLI) provides developers with tools that can accelerate the development process by monitoring and performing updates as code changes are being made in real-time.
In this lab, you will explore hotswap deployments and the CDK watch command. You'll learn the differences between the two operations and how to best utilize them as you grow your application.
Upon completion of this intermediate-level lab, you will be able to:
- Perform hotswap deployments to update AWS Lambda source code
- Configure CDK watch to perform automatic deployments triggered by code updates
- Cloud Architects
- DevOps Engineers
- Software Engineers
Familiarity with the following will be beneficial but is not required:
- AWS CDK
- AWS Lambda
The following content can be used to fulfill the prerequisite:
August 16th, 2023 - Remove Node deprecation warning and updated CDK CLI version
March 13th, 2023 - Enabled autosave in the lab's browser IDE
