This learning path introduces Centralizing Operations Using AWS Systems Manager. It is designed to help you learn about AWS Systems Manager and its fundamental features.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn what Systems Manager can do in terms of features and capabilities
- Learn the basic setup required to enable Systems Manager in your instances
- Understand the conditions and requirements to use Systems Manager effectively for your daily maintenance and machine life cycle management
- Learn how to the use the run command and parameter store in Systems Manager
- Learn how to schedule tasks through maintenance windows
- Create an AWS Systems Manager Parameter using the AWS Management Console
- Update an AWS Lambda function to use your parameter
- Execute the AWS Lambda function and observe its output
- Examine the differences and similarities between the AWS Systems Manager Parameter Store and AWS Secrets Manager so that it is clear which one you should use when storing secrets within your AWS accounts
- Understand how documents can be used to execute commands
- Apply patches with PatchManager and make resource configuration changes
- Execute any modification needed to establish the desired state for instances independently of the size of your fleet
Prerequisites:
In order to get the most out of this learning path, you should meet the requirements for the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification and preferably one of AWS's associate-level certifications.
