In the Azure Resource Manager deployment model, unlike the older “Classic” deployment model each Azure Networking component is separated out into its own resource component and then tied to the virtual machine. This approach is more flexible and allows you to have more options available to you. Virtual machines have NIC cards including multiple NICs. NICs can have Public IPs. We can now have multiple Public IPs per VM. NICs connect to Virtual Networks. Virtual Networks have Subnets.
VM NICs can be Load balanced. Load balancers have front-end addresses and a backend address pool.
