Azure AD does provide basic monitoring in the form of tracking sign-ins and Audit logs for most Azure AD Service activities. However, we now have Azure AD Connect Health which is meant for Hybrid Scenarios and help you monitor and gain insights into your on-premises identity infrastructure and synchronization services all from Azure.

There are three main AD Connect Health Agents
There’s the Active Directory Federation Services agent which shows you alerts, monitoring, and usage analytics of AD FS
An Azure Active Directory Domain Services agent which shows all your AD DS forests including a Domain Controllers dashboard, Replication Status dashboard, alerts, and monitoring of your AD DS infrastructure
And finally The Azure Active Directory Connect Sync agent which shows your Azure AD Connect servers that are being monitored.

Also know that the AD DS health agent works only with Windows 2008 R2 or higher Domain Controllers.
