How does remote proctoring work?

It’s easy. You need to sign up for an exam at Pearson VUE —  they’re the organization that AWS has contracted to act as proctors. The main technical requirements are:

  • A Windows 8+ or MacOS 10.13+ computer with webcam, microphone, and headphones/speakers (sorry, no older Windows OS or Linux/Unix machines allowed).
  • A private and quiet location with no other people present.
  • A good internet connection with no extra security measures such as a VPN.

What about retired exams?

You might already know about changes to other AWS exams such as new versions and new names. The dates for these changes are now extended:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate: Last day to take the previous version (SAA-C01), extended to July 1, 2020.
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty (formerly AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty): Last day to take AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty, extended to July 1, 2020.

  • Certification expiration dates: AWS has automatically extended cert expiration dates when you may need more time to recertify. Check your AWS Certification Account for more details.
  • Extended voucher expiration dates: Vouchers purchased from Xvoucher have additional time added.
