Microsoft Azure Virtual Networks enable the deployment of infrastructure resources in the cloud, including VPN Gateways, Virtual Machines, Network Interfaces, Public IP Addresses, and Load Balancers. Certain application / platform services can also be deployed into Virtual Networks, such as Microsoft Azure's App Service and Redis Cache. Custom route tables can be created, and associated with Virtual Network subnets, to help control the flow of network traffic in the cloud. Network Security Groups, a set of cloud-based firewall rules, can be deployed, to tighten security.
